Hallsville Square Dance — Saturday, July 9, 2011

Pack up your fiddle or banjo or mandolin or guitar or spoons…

Put on your dancing shoes….

Bring a dish to share…

Or just bring yourself (and friends and family) to Hallsville for an old-time community gathering with good folks and plenty of fun.

  • 4:00 pm: Open old-time jam for all ages and levels of experience
  • 6:00 pm: Pot-luck dinner
  • 7:00 pm: The Virginia Reel, followed by squares, with couples dances at the breaks (including waltzes, schottische, and polkas)

This is an informal event, where people of all ages gather to play music, share food and fellowship, and dance. It takes place at the Hallsville Community Center on OO on the east side of town. Go to the stoplight in the center of town and go east on OO a few blocks. It curves to the right, and there underneath the water tower is the Community Center.

Square dance instruction available, live music.  Donations gratefully accepted to help cover costs. Carry-in food welcome for the potluck supper. No smoking in the building. No alcohol allowed.
