Contra dance — Friday, October 7, 2011

If you missed our contra dance last Friday, you have another chance! Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers will host another contra dance this Friday, October 7, 2011, at our regular time and place:

  • First Christian Church, Tenth and Walnut, Columbia, Missouri (north entrance under the driveway canopy)
  • 7:30–10:30 pm (beginners’ lesson at 7:00)

Admission $7.00 ($4.00 for ages 16–25 or with student ID; free for children 15 and under)

Nine Mile Band will provide the music, with John White on fiddle, Dave Cavins on guitar, Amber Gaddy on piano and accordian, and Jim Ruth on banjo. Wade Pearson from St. Louis will be calling.

The dances begin easy and get harder (though not impossible) throughout the evening, so if you are new to contra dancing, come early.
