Contra Dance — Friday, October 21, 2011

Photo of folk musicians Cathy Barton on hammer dulcimer and Dave Para on guitar.
Cathy and Dave have been playing music and singing together for many years.

As the days turn cooler and the nights longer, what better way to fill your time than dancing to live music! Join the Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers  this Friday, October 21, 2011, at our regular time and place:

  • First Christian Church, Tenth and Walnut, Columbia, Missouri (north entrance under the driveway canopy)
  • 7:30–10:30 pm (beginners’ lesson at 7:00)

Admission $7.00 ($4.00 for ages 16–25 or with student ID; free for children 15 and under)

One of our favorite duos, Dave Para and Cathy Barton, will provide the music, and the talented Janine Gordon will be calling. All dances are taught and called throughout the evening. No partner needed. No fancy outfits expected. Just bring yourself and a desire to have a good time.

The dances begin easy and get harder (though not impossible) throughout the evening, so if you are new to contra dancing, come early.
