Contra Dance — Friday, November 4, 2011

I’m sure you’ve noticed that the sun is setting earlier each evening and this weekend we’ll be setting our clocks back. That can only mean one thing—an extra hour for dancing with the Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers (or for socializing at Flatbranch after the dancing)!  Join us this Friday, November 4, 2011, at our regular time and place:

  • First Christian Church, Tenth and Walnut, Columbia, Missouri (north entrance under the driveway canopy)
  • 7:30–10:30 pm (beginners’ lesson at 7:00)

Admission $7.00 ($4.00 for ages 16–25 or with student ID; free for children 15 and under)

You don’t want to miss this dance. Music by River Ridge String Band (Cliff White, Molly White, Charlie Nelson, and John Cunning). Calling by John Coffman from Cape Girardeau. All dances are taught and called throughout the evening. No partner needed. No fancy outfits expected. Just bring yourself and a desire to have a good time.

The dances begin easy and get harder (though not impossible) throughout the evening, so if you are new to contra dancing, come early.
