English Country Dance — Friday, March 9, 2012

MMTD is pleased to offer yet another opportunity to enjoy traditional dance in Mid-Missouri. On Friday evening, March 9, we will host our second English Country dance, 7:00–10:30, at the First Christian Church, Tenth and Walnut, Columbia, MO.  You say you’ve never heard of English Country Dancing? You’re in good company, since many people are unfamiliar with it. But if you’ve watched Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, or Emma, you have indeed seen it.

If you are new to this form of dance, we encourage you to attend the beginners walk-through at 7:00. As with contras and squares, all dances will be taught and called throughout the evening, led by our own dancing master, Jim Thaxter.

Admission $7.00 ($4.00 for ages 16–25 or with student ID; free for children 15 and under).
