English Country Dance – Friday, June 12

Come join us at our last English Country Dance of the season!   The wonderful quartet 32 Bartenders will provide elegant music for us and veteran caller Jim Thaxter will lead us through a variety of interesting dances. The 32 Bartenders are Tom Verdot on fiddle, Thom Howard on guitar, Rebecca Logan on flute and pennywhistle, and Marcie McGuire on keyboard.  We hope you can join us!

The dance starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Rock Quarry House in the city of Columbia’s Rock Quarry Park. PLEASE NOTE THE NEW LOCATION FOR ENGLISH DANCES. The park is located at 2002 Grindstone Parkway (http://tinyurl.com/myk3ekm). Admission is $8 for the public, $5 for students and ages 16-25, with free admittance for children 15 and under.

Our dances are fun, community-oriented events that do not require prior dance experience. Individuals of all ages are welcome, as well as couples and groups. No partner needed.

Beginners are encouraged to come to an introductory lesson at 7:00 p.m. Dancers should wear lightweight, comfortable clothing and soft-soled or leather-soled shoes to preserve the floor—no spike heels or cowboy boots. (Please carry-in appropriate dance shoes as needed.)
