Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers will host a potluck dinner and contra dance on Saturday, September 19th. The dance will be held at the Dexheimer Shelter at Cosmo Park. Click here for a link to a map of the park – Dexheimer is No. 24, in the southwest corner of the park (upper left corner on the map). And a google map here.
Music will be by The Scherer Hotshots and Open Mic calling. The potluck starts at 5:30 and the dance is 7:30 – 10:30. Note the change of venue for this one dance and that it is on a Saturday night this time. No admission fee. Donations will be accepted to cover the costs of the band and sound engineer. Won’t it be great to get back to contra dancing!
MMTD’s dances are fun, community-oriented events that do not require prior dance experience. Individuals of all ages are welcome, as well as couples and groups. No partner needed. Every dance is taught and called throughout the evening to live music. Beginners are encouraged to come for the introductory lesson at 7:00 p.m Dancers should wear lightweight, comfortable clothing and shoes.
