Contra Dance – Friday, October 16th

We are very lucky to have the Mound City Slickers from the St. Louis area playing for our dance this Friday, Oct 16th! The band is made up of great musicians Lindell Blackford on fiddle, Sean Ruprecht-Belt on guitar, Bill Stewart on fiddle, Bob Clark on banjo and Rich Egan on piano. Most of these fine players are apt to be working their magic on other instruments as well.

Great calling will be by our own veteran caller Paula McFarling.

This will be a fun and lively dance! Hope to see you there! Our contra dances are held at The Ballroom Academy of Columbia, 3910 Peachtree Dr. (faces Monterey Dr.)

Dances are from 7:30–10:30 pm (beginners’ lesson at 7:00). No partner is necessary! Most of us switch partners with every dance and experienced dancers are more than happy to dance with new-comers to help them get the hang of it.

Admission $8.00 ($5.00 for ages 16–25 or with student ID; free for children 15 and under).

Important Note – Please wear soft-soled or leather soled shoes to preserve the floor–no spike heels or cowboy boots. Please carry-in appropriate dance shoes as needed.

The BAC has an endless water dispenser with paper cups, but we encourage you to bring a water bottle.
