Old-time outdoor dance – Saturday, April 23

Join the Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers as we listen and dance to Missouri master fiddlers Travis Inman and H.K. Silvey at the Jefferson Landing State Historic site in Jefferson City, MO. They will be joined by their apprentices and guitarists (including Jim Nelson from St. Louis). You will get to experience two Missouri fiddling traditions—Southwest Ozark and Little Dixie styles.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. We will be dancing traditional old-time barn dances on the lawn. Suitable for all ages and no experience required.

This free event will be held from 11 am – 1 pm on Saturday, April 23rd on the the front lawn at the Lohman Building at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, 100 Jefferson Street, Jefferson City.

The event is being sponsored by the Missouri State Parks and the Missouri Folk Arts Program and is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Missouri Arts Council and the Museum of Art and Archaeology at the University of Missouri-Columbia
